Text description provided by the architects. Contrahuella is an urban activation project that takes the banks of the San Juan River as a starting point to stimulate collective reflection on the relationship between the city, heritage, and the fluvial landscape. Through the insertion of sculptural wooden staircases distributed along both riverbanks, the intervention proposes new forms of physical and symbolic access to the water, which has historically been restricted by infrastructure, architectural barriers, and environmental neglect.
