The 14th edition of the MEDS Workshop will take place in Rijeka, Croatia. This year, the theme of the MEDS Workshop invites participants to dive into the stories and experiences of Rijeka, exploring its rich history, culture and dynamic present through its unique textures.

Inviting schools to propose the best works from recently graduated architects, urban planners and landscape architects

I-Park is soliciting applications for its fully funded General Residency Program. These onsite, multidisciplinary residencies are open to artists and designers working in the visual arts, creative writing, music composition, moving image, architecture, interdisciplinary practice and landscape design. The residency season runs from May 20 – November 24, 2025. All sessions are 4-weeks in duration except for the May session – 2-weeks.

The Theatre Architecture Competition (TAC), one of the three competitions during World Stage Design (WSD) 2025, is open for entries from students and emerging architecture practitioners worldwide. 'Theatre of Possibilities' is the motto for this issue of TAC and the competition invites innovative ideas for a performance space that can maximize the use and value of a cultural site.
For this edition, the site is the courtyard of Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, a merchant's home built in 1845, located in Sharjah, UAE.

The School of Architecture at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is now accepting applications for the 2025–26 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellowship. Named for the architect and educator Doug Garofalo (1958–2011), the nine-month fellowship provides emerging designers the opportunity to teach design studio and seminar courses and conduct independent research, culminating in a public lecture at the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and an exhibition or public conversation at the school.

Over the past two decades, the Holcim Foundation Awards has committed USD 20M to spotlight transformative projects by architects, designers, and engineers who pioneer sustainable design and construction practices. To capture these stories, the Foundation launched a short film series titled Words with Winners.

This series provides an in-depth look at award-winning sustainable design projects through exclusive interviews with their creators. It includes the first film to showcase BRAC University campus, recently completed in Dhaka, featuring an exclusive interview with the lead architect and co-founder of Singaporean green building specialists WOHA Wong Mun Summ.

The subject of the competition is the design of an architectural solution for a football stadium for FC Baník Ostrava, a.s., which will meet UEFA criteria for the highest category of stadium enabling the organisation of international matches in all categories of football. The new stadium, with significant, larger-than-regional importance, aims to bring the game closer to the fans and create the best possible spectator experience.

The international architectural competition "Reinterpreting Tradition: Contemporary Insights Towards Buttoned Houses' Technique," is organized in collaboration with the INTBAU Grassroots program, Antalya Bilim University, and the Mediterranean Freelance Architects Association.

The Finnish Museum of Architecture and Design Foundation, in partnership with the Real Estate Company ADM, has unveiled the five designs shortlisted for the international competition aimed at offering Helsinki a new venue highlighting architecture history and design. This new museum, to be located in the historic South Harbour, has received global interest, with 624 anonymized submissions reviewed since September 2024. This announcement marks the completion of the competition's first phase, as all successful entries will advance to a second stage, receiving a financial award to refine their concepts.

The Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum (hereafter referred to as the Ecomuseum)is pleased to announce the opening of submissions for the 2nd Daxi International Wood Furniture Craft and Design Competition. Entries are welcome from now until February 3, 2025. The competition calls on creators worldwide to reimagine the potential of wooden furniture design through the lens of “storage.” This theme highlights the harmonious blend of traditional woodworking craftsmanship and contemporary design innovation, celebrating the distinctive aesthetics and functionality of wooden furniture. Future Plastic Design Award
We are seeking creative and original concepts for furniture elements that blend functionality with contemporary design. These products should be manufactured using injection molding with a single mold, ensuring an optimized production process and reduced unit costs. The products will be sold disassembled to minimize packaging dimensions and should be designed for quick and intuitive assembly, allowing users to easily put them together.
You are invited to propose a single piece of furniture or, if preferred, a collection of furniture elements designed for home use in both indoor and outdoor contexts.
The product categories include:

State Tax University of Ukraine and its partners announce an Open Competition for the best architectural solution for the design of the Main Campus building of the University in Irpin (Kyiv suburb), which was almost completely destroyed in the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022.
